This is an ancient Jatt tribe. This clan was founded by Saroi. This clan ruled over Delhi at one time, 6th to 8th century. Dhillon, Sangha, Malhi, Dosanjh and Dhindsa of Saroi lineage went towards Rajasthan. They came into Punjab at the end of 15th century.
Historian Bhai Samsher Singh Ashok in his book “Punjabi Jeewan ate Sanskriti’, writes that people of Sangha clan have been dwelling in the villages of Sangha in Amritsar, Kala Sangha, Jandu Sangha and Dusanjh in Jalandhar , Bhaiki Daroli in Ferozepur and Guara in the district of Sangrur. Malhi and Dhillon are two of branches of this Clan. Charhik was founded by Sanghas. Sanghas left Moga to found Daroli.
According to the first land demarcation of 1852-53, a dancer named Daroli had received some estate here from Moslem King. Sangha became tenants of Daroli. After her death they inherited her estate. According to Ferozepur Gazeteer, Baba Lumbra’s descendents settled Sanghas in Malwa. Founders of Daroli were Ajab and Ajaib, two sons of Baba Lumbra. Both brothers were keen followers of 3rd Sikh Guru. They are also referred in one of the ballads of Bhai Gurdas.
Sai Das Khatri, the co-brother-in-law of Guru Hargobind Sahib dwelled in Daroli. He was staunch follower of Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Sanghas were keen followers of Sikhism. The 6th Guru gave the title of Bhaiki to the village of Daroli. Hence Sanghas are also known as Bhaike. Bhai Kalyan Das of Sangha clan was a staunch follower 6th Guru. He was grandson of Ajaib. Bhai Kalayna’s son Bhai Nand Chand became a General of Guru Gobind Singh. The descendents of Bhai Kalyana founded the two villages named Koreala, two named Taimur and Jogewala and Bhai ka Wara.
When their numbers inflated in Malwa, some of the Sanghas went towards Majha and Doaba. Most of the Sanghas are presently settled in Doaba.
